Luggage Forward was born out of the simple idea that travelers should enjoy the journey as much as the destination. We set out to replace waiting at the baggage carousel with more vacation time by shipping luggage and gear from doorstep to destination. Nearly two decades later and countless bags shipped around the world, convenience is still core to everything we do. We are proud to be the leading global provider of door-to-door luggage and sports equipment delivery.

Our Proprietary Logistics Software System

After booking your shipment with Luggage Forward, our proprietary, rules-based algorithms built on our 20 years of data will begin to manage your shipment. Your doorstep luggage pickup is automatically dispatched and monitored from one of our vetted global logistics providers.  

Once your bags are underway, our predictive tracking logic anticipates where your luggage should be throughout its journey and alerts our staff of any abnormality. If you are shipping luggage internationally, our electronic Customs Management System identifies and submits all required forms on your behalf. Once delivery is confirmed at your destination, you will receive a notification to let you know that your bags are awaiting your arrival at your destination.

Company History

2004 – The Beginning

In 2004 two high school friends set out to fundamentally change the way people travel. They pioneered a process of forwarding luggage by building proprietary technology and building trusted relationships with a network of logistics providers. The first bags were shipped with a reliability previously unavailable to travelers.

Technology played an important role at the start of Luggage Forward and with an eye towards the future, we began to capture and monitor data on all our shipments. We have been building algorithms that allow us to automatically select the most reliable carriers and monitor every aspect of the shipping process and build our Customs Management System since 2004.


2009 – Acquisition & Expansion

Beginning in 2009, Luggage Forward began the consolidation of the then-fragmented luggage forwarding industry resulting in the acquisition of eight different brands. As the technology and service leader in the space we brought smaller businesses onto our platform. Eventually all eight brands were fully integrated into Luggage Forward.


2014 – Growing A Network of Partners

After nearly a decade of proven success with our clients we became the exclusive luggage delivery provider for many of the world’s leading travel brands. We began work with Abercrombie & Kent, Air Canada, Exclusive Resorts, Holland America Line, Mandarin Oriental, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Viking Cruises, Windstar Cruises and more brands that we still work with to this day.


2020 – Supporting Clients Through COVID-19

As travel came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked to bring bags home to clients all over the world. We partnered with cruise ships docked in unexpected places to support their guests’ travel and quickly turned around shipments of bags that were sent ahead for canceled vacations. During this challenging time, we demonstrated our expertise to our clients and partners by handling large scale emergency situations.


2023 – New Look, Same Standard of Excellence

Luggage Forward continues to set the standard in door-to-door delivery of luggage and sports equipment and truly is transforming today’s travel experience for those who demand the utmost in convenience, reliability and predictability. We have updated our look to honor and reflect the same brand experience that has served clients for the past two decades while incorporating the luxurious feel of our five-star service. Our goal has always been to lighten your load and we have lighted our own with simple and elevated branding.
