Spring is a great time to travel and in many parts of the world – Europe in particular – the weather is getting warmer, flowers are blooming and cities are coming alive with activity.
If you are looking for spring vacation ideas for your European getaway, we can help! We spoke with our partner, Destination Europe, and they provided us with a few cities and countries that they recommend visiting during this time of year:
Don’t these spring vacation ideas make you want to hop on a plane to Europe right now? We sure want to!
If you do book a vacation to these spring destinations, make sure you ship luggage ahead or ship golf clubs to your hotel, cruise ship, rental property or residence in these cities and countries. Shipping luggage allows you to avoid the common hassles of air travel such as waiting in long check-in lines, hauling heavy bags, and lost luggage. It also allows you to skip the baggage claim and continue on directly to your final destination. Walk off the plane and head right to your hotel, the beach, a restaurant, the golf course or other local attraction.

Paris, France
Springtime in Paris is the best time in Paris! Flowers are blooming, the crowds are low and you can take advantage of shoulder season prices in one of the more expensive European cities. We recommend heading to the Tuileries, the Jardin du Luxembourg or the Buttes-Chaumont.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
One word…TULIPS! From April-May, it is tulip season in Holland and one of the best places to visit is the amazing Keukenhof Gardens. The Gardens are about 20 minutes outside of the city and known as the Garden of Europe. It is the world’s second largest flower garden with more than 7 million flowers! April 27th is also Kings Day (previously known as Queens Day) in Amsterdam and is a city-wide street party. A great experience for those looking for a one-of-kind festival – be sure to wear your orange!
Sicily
First and foremost, the weather is ideal and not too hot (unlike summer months). Along with this, off season means very fewer tourists, great rates at local hotels, less traffic and an easier time traveling around the island to explore. Since there is so much to see and do, traveling when there are less crowds is ideal. For example, there are beautiful Baroque buildings, numerous cities, quaint markets, Greek temples, small villages, and Mt. Etna.
Ireland, the UK & Scotland
When it’s spring time in the British Isles you can expect baby lambs in the pastures, Magnolia trees in full bloom, lower rates at hotels, and short lines at main attractions in larger cities like London. Though it can still be rainy here this time of year, it is a nice place to consider given the value of the Dollar vs. the Pound. The off-season makes cities like London much more affordable in the spring.
