Excess Baggage Fee Chart
Airlines are under financial pressure to offset the cost of rising fuel prices and many now charge excess baggage fees for checking one or more piece of luggage. Some are are even charging for carry-ons. The following chart displays checked baggage allowances and fees for major airlines.
*All airlines have checked luggage fee structures for oversize and overweight baggage and these fees are charged in addition to the initial fee for checking the bag. Specific airline regulations can be found by clicking on the baggage policy links above. For most airlines, bags over 50 pounds (23 Kgs) are subject to additional fees which start around $50. Many airlines have additional fees for checking sports equipment such as skis, golf bags, and bikes.
